Project Definition and Research

As a first step towards refining my concept, I engaged in directed study with Kathleen Watson. My goal was to produce a clear and detailed outline for my final project. I needed to put the ideas and direction that I had conceptualized into an achievable plan. To accomplish this, I was guided to create documentation that would outline the details of the project.

This documentation included the project performance and requirements document, an audience definition, and information architecture reports. Each of these documents helped to refine my thinking, bringing the project from a conceptual state to a working reality. The conceptual ideas and loose narrative that I had worked out in my head (and in rough sketch form) were outlined in detail. I identified personal goals, audience and stake holder needs, project constraints, and usability objectives, setting the stage for the further details of the project.
