Scribblism

The illustrations found in the Cosmic Knot project are all created in Adobe Photoshop using only one tool. Each composition is developed using photos, drawings, and patterns scanned into the computer. The compositions are then colored using only the air-brush tool set from 1-5 pixels in diameter. The style and technique attempts to produce images that have the

structure, geometry, and precision of classical art combined with the energy, color, and looseness of a contemporary work. The style is produced literally by scribbling layer after layer of color. The style complements the precise geometric style of the knots, and adds another dimension to the idea of the knot, as part of the universal fiber linking everything together. The technique also works well for creating dynamic light, where the colors and light in the work create an atmosphere throughout the composition.
